COVID-19 ALERT: In light of the recent rise in cases due to the Delta variant, breakfast will not be served and masks will be required at Denver/Lake Norman Rotary meetings for the foreseeable future.
President's Message
Ellen Fichtelman
Hello Rotarians!
I am looking forward to seeing everyone Wednesday 9/1 at 7:30am under the Pavilion at Unity Presbyterian for our weekly meeting. In the event of rain, we will move inside.
In light of the current rise in covid cases the board has opted to require masking and forego breakfast in order to safely meet in person this week. We will hold a zoom board meeting this Friday 9/3 to vote on how to conduct meetings for the foreseeable future.
This week we will have a pop up service project for Stuff the Bus in place of a speaker. If everyone can bring a few of the items on the school supply list, we will box the supplies to go to local elementary schools in need.
For those who would like to make a donation for coats through Operation Warm, checks should be made out to Denver/Lake Norman Rotary Club Foundation with the memo line: Operation Warm.
Checks can be brought to Rotary meetings and given to Jason B or Charlie B
Or mailed to: Denver/LKN Rotary Foundation
P.O. Box 861
Denver, NC 28037
Upcoming dates to remember: 9/1- Pop up Service Project - Stuff the Bus 9/3 – Rotary Board Meeting
9/10 - Music in the Park
Yours in Rotary Service,
Ellen B. Fichtelman
District Governor Ken Shull and President Ellen Fichtelman look on as sponsors Rich Lyon, Andie Taylor and Melvinia Robinson affix Rotary pins on new inductees Brandon Blell, Katie Henry and Elijah Beatty.
This is our club's third year working with Operation Warm to provide a new winter coat for every child in foster care in Lincoln County. We purchase at least 110 coats that keep infants, children, teens and young adults (birth to 21 years) warm all winter.
At CAPC in Lincolnton, Sherry Reinhardt has replenished children's books in memory of Rotarian Andy Scriven and his Race to Reading initiative. Sherry, her staff and the children absolutely love them!
