This is our club's third year working with Operation Warm to provide a new winter coat for every child in foster care in Lincoln County. We purchase at least 110 coats that keep infants, children, teens and young adults (birth to 21 years) warm all winter.
The recipients get to pick the color of the coat that they desire and their Social Worker provides the size for ordering and then, delivers the coat to the child.  This year, Sherry Reinhardt applied for a grant from the Foundation of the Carolinas and they awarded us $1300. The rest of the monies are donated by our Rotarians.  Our committee is small: Charlie, Norma, Sherry and Cathy Smiley.  We raise money for approximately one month and the deadline is Sept. 15 this year so that we can get our order in to Operation Warm. Rotarians - please make out checks to the Denver/LKN Rotary Club Foundation so that your contribution is tax deductible.
