Denver Days Music in the Park Board Announces 2022 Concert Line-up; Sponsors Needed!
By Steve Baker

The Denver Lake Norman Rotary will host the “2022 Greatest Show on Earth in Lincoln County, North Carolina”

Yes, you heard right, starting on May 21st and running through October 8th, Music in the Park will return for 2022. Every month there will be a band playing in the Rescue Squad Park Band Shelter on a Saturday night. The really great thing about this is that it’s free.  This is the second annual Music in the Park concert event provided by The Denver/Lake Norman Rotary.

The concert events will run from 6 pm to 9:30 pm. The 6 pm to 6:30 pm slot will be for dance teams, gymnastics teams or other youth organizations from the local community. The bands will then play for the next three hours.

Celeste Rinaldo, Denver Days Music in the Park Chair, put together a memorable Powerpoint presentation for the club's February 16th Zoom meeting. Unfortunately, Celeste had major electrical problems at her home (due to some hungry squirrels) so Joe Lampron stepped in to do the presentation.

Each event will have food and beverages available for sale including beer, wine, soft drinks and water plus multiple food trucks and an ice cream truck. Denver/Lake Norman Rotary members will be needed in the following areas to help make the 2022 event successful:

  1. Volunteer at the events
  2. Put out and remove road signs before and after events
  3. Spread the word using personal contacts and social media
  4. Note the dates of the events
  5. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY:  Solicit sponsorships!

Here are the dates with the Bands that will be performing

May 21st Rockie Lynne

June 28th TBA

July 16th Dry Pond Grove

Aug 20th The Tonez

Sept 27th Justin Minton

Oct 8th Blue Monday

Special thanks goes to the Denver/Lake Norman Rotary and the Denver Days Music in the Park Board for spending the time working to get all the dates set and arrangements made to put together the 2022 Music in the Park concert series. Also, for those who are new to the Board whose input and work are most appreciated.

Copies of the presentation and the Sponsorship Flyer can be found in the "Download Files" section in the upper left corner of this newsletter.  Additional information has been added to our website, www.denverlakenormanrotary.com, with thanks to our webmaster, Craig Buhrendorf.

***** SPECIAL *****

There will be a special try out audition before the first concert. This will be to find someone who can climb a ladder more than three feet off the ground. Please sign up at one of the upcoming Rotary Meetings.
