President's Message

Dear Rotarians,

I hope that you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the autumn air. As we continue forward in this season of thankfulness and gratitude, I wanted to pause a moment to both recognize and say thank you to some of our amazing Rotarians.

Last week, I had the privilege for the very first time to attend the Lake Norman Citizen Normy Awards 2025, which honors the best in Lake Norman area business and community.

Three of our very own were recognized for their impact and service to the Lake Norman and Denver community. Our first amazing Rotarian that won was Sherry Reinhardt, of the Lincoln County Child Advocacy Center, who was awarded for her caring and extraordinary Service to the Community. Dr. Wissam Nadra, of Lakeshore Pediatric Center, also won Best Pediatrician in Denver for his exceptional treatment of the children he cares for in our community. Rich Lyon, of Denver’s Rich Lyon State Farm Insurance and Financial Services, also won Denver’s Best Insurance Agent for his remarkable and attentive service to his clients and their families.

I was so proud of these three very special Rotarians for the wonderful human beings they are and for the care that they provide for the children and families in our greater Denver area. They live the motto “Service Above Self” and we are very lucky to have them in our Rotary and looking after our community.

A very heartfelt thank you so much to all of you as well for all you do for Denver/Lake Norman. Our Rotary is truly blessed to have you.

Kindest Regards,

Trudie

Mike went to Fredericksburg Virginia for a soccer event, but missed the 30th anniversary celebration.

Andie gave for Trudie letting her verbally unload from a particularly bad day - thanks for listening.

Denny let us know he was in a meeting with Dr. Oz this week regarding Hospital funding issues, and grateful for his former student in residence Manuel who was visiting this week.

Joannie put some in for our 30th Anniversary, big checks for polio plus and one for CART and 1 dollar for breast cancer awareness this month.

Panico gave for Jim Minor and Polio plus and thanked Cathy for providing the example of what to put on the cards for the kids coats.

Rich gave for his wife and her great event Polio plus which raised over $33,000 and also gave for Ted Debbie’s father recently passed.

Craig was sorry he missed the Polio Plus event so he gave another $100 for the cause. He was visited Stroudsburg, PA for a wedding event and got to see a lot of his old friends from his college fraternity. Also, he and Jeane celebrated their 35th Anniversary locally at 16 Prime.

Ross reminded everyone about his Cigars and Bourbon Fundraising Nov 1st event where he will need some help with set up on Saturday and breaking everything down on Sunday, also if anyone has good skills with the donation using Stripe that would be helpful to keep things on track.

Marty celebrated his Anniversary mostly in the airport with delays and thanked Jim for the Rotary shirt idea and St. Jude Prayer someone gave him but it is in Spanish… que Manuel.
