President's Message
Greetings, Rotarians!

Great to see everyone last week after our Christmas break!

Thomas Eatmon and his student assistants gave us a great update on the Interact Club at East Lincoln and what is going on with RYLA in general. Thank you, Thomas! Another example of Thomas Eatmon stepping up and putting "Service Above Self" and contributing to our Rotary club.

This week our speaker is Keith Berman of GE Massey Classroom.

Also, this week, JIM PERRY will be hosting a (District) Foundation meeting immediately following our normal meeting. Jim will be discussing District Grants and how to utilize club points that we have earned. EVERYONE/ANYONE is invited to attend.

See you Wednesday @ Unity!

Shoes for Guapiles
The Denver/Lake Norman Rotary will once again be supporting Jim Minor and his son Ash on their fourth Building Mission Trip to Costa Rica, February 3-13.  The men's Mission Team from Weddington UMC has been going to Costa Rica for over 20 years on mission trips that build Methodist Church-related projects throughout the country.  This year's trip will be going to Guapiles, on the eastern side of the mountain range that cuts through the central part of Costa Rica.

The Team will be taking shoes donated by the Club to distribute to parishioners in Guapiles. All donated shoes are deeply appreciated by the local Costa Rican families.  All new and/or 'gently used' shoes are welcome, and can include shoes for adults, children, and infants.  Types of shoes can be athletic, work, casual or dress, hiking and beach footwear.  No cold weather or high-top boots please.

Shoes can be donated at Wednesday morning Denver/Lake Norman Rotary meetings through January 25th.
