Hello Rotarians,

I had a great honor last week to attend President Elect Training (PETS) with our own Assistant Governors and District 7670 leaders - Andie and Tracy, and our incoming President Ross. It was wonderful! I drank the Rotary Kool-Aid long ago and PETS further reinforced why I love Rotary, my fellow Rotarians, our club and District so much.

It has been an absolute honor to serve as your president this year and I cannot wait to see what miraculous things Ross does when he takes the helm on July 1.

I read a quote at PETS that resonated - “When Rotarians come together, hope multiplies, communities strengthen and the world moves closer to peace.”This sentiment was emphasized by a Rotary Peace Fellow who reminded us that the foundation of peace lies within relationships. Rotary is able to do so much good in the world, because it not only remains neutral – operating independently of political or religious affiliations, open to all countries and cultures - it also leads through the development of relationships, which instill trust and open doors to serve that otherwise would stay shut. The connections and relationships that Rotary offers to strengthen our community and the feelings of belonging and hope are instrumental in what we can achieve. As we move, closer to Race For Philanthropy the relationships we have with our friends, neighbors and community members will help us multiply its success. Please treasure the relationships that you have with one another and be intentional about fostering relationships with our new Rotarians because our connection to each other and Rotary is a blessing that changes lives.

Your friend,
Trudie

Race For Philanthropy Update for Rotarians

As we get closer to Race For Philanthropy, a quick reminder that if you are attending, we are generally assuming you will also be helping with a volunteer role during the evening. It takes a lot of people doing small jobs well to make the event work, and Rotary involvement is a big part of that.

Rotarians are encouraged to invite their significant other to attend. If your significant other is coming, we also would encourage them to also invite at least one couple or two individuals who would genuinely enjoy the evening and appreciate the purpose behind it — people who value community, generosity, and the kind of work our Foundation supports. The goal is simply to continue building the right audience, because who's there matters.

Everyone attending must register in advance by typing raceforphilanthropy.com/rsvp into a web browser exactly as shown. Please do not add “www.” before the address.

A few registration notes:
  • Significant others and their guests should register as “Host’s Guest
  • Every Rotarian is listed on the host list by first initial and full last name
  • Significant others and their guests should select your name as their host

One small note: the host list is pulled directly from our Rotary database, so if the first initial you commonly use differs from what appears in Rotary records, please let Ross know so guests can find you easily when registering.

This simply helps us keep registrations organized and tied to the right host as they come in.

Thank you for helping make this a thoughtful, well-shaped evening that does real good for our community.
