Hoping everyone had a relaxing Memorial Day and found some time to think about those who have given their lives to defend this great country we get to call home! Thanks to all of the current and former servicemen and women, deceased or living. We have such special privilege called Freedom in the United States and we should do more to honor those that are willing to fight for all of us to keep it!!
Let’s not forget this weekend is Day at the Lake for Foster Kids. We will be at Camp Dogwood in Sherrills Ford this year and we will have an update with more info at tomorrow’s meeting. Let’s put on the best one yet and give these kids and their families a memory to remember.
Speaking of memory, you know who is creating a HUGE one right now? Our very own Panico Perez is across the globe at the Rotary International Convention in Singapore. It was such a treat to receive a few pictures of him with our own honorary member, Amilton Medieros, and then one came across where Panico was presenting our Denver/Lake Norman Club flag to 2025-2026 Rotary International President Mario Cesar who spoke to us via zoom back in April. I cannot wait to hear about all of the great things Panico was able to experience while there. Where we usually think about Rotary on the Local or District Level I have to imagine there are worldly ideas that are discussed and how different others see this great big globe! I am sure there is much talk about Peace - which all of us should be doing in our daily lives. Creating Peace and a Safe Environment in which all people can live should be one of the major topics we all discuss often to keep it in the forefront of our lives.
I look forward to seeing each of you tomorrow morning.
Cheers!
