President's Message

Hello, Fellow Rotarians!

What a great evening at Music in the Park last Saturday!  While some attendees left early as the rain started to fall, the vast majority of one of the biggest crowds I've seen at this event stayed for an evening of classic Fleetwood Mac tunes by the tribute band "The Chain".

At this Wednesday's meeting we will have a special guest, Past District Governor and 2023-2024 CART Chair,Tammy Mosteller who will speak about Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia.  She will be introduced by our current District 7670 CART Chair and Immediate Past President Andie Taylor.

This Thursday (7/25), the Catawba Valley Rotary is sponsoring a joint social at the 3 Little Birds Corks & More wine bar in Newton from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.  This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with other Rotarians nearby, but outside of our group.  Click on the entry in the "Upcoming Events" section for more info.

Coming up on Thursday August 1st at 6:30 pm is our next Rotary Social at Whitewater Center in Charlotte where there will be a free concert by the band "The Kind Thieves".  More details will follow shortly.

Also, Board Members and Committee Chairs, please mark your calendars as the next Denver/Lake Norman Rotary Board meeting will be held on Friday, August 2nd at 7:30 am at Ross Bulla's office.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday!

Craig

The Chain, a Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band, Attracts a Huge Crowd at Music in the Park, in Spite of a Sudden Downpour
With no precipitation in the forecast, music fans showed up in droves at the July 21st Music in the Park concert.  After the rain started, most of the attendees stayed and moved undercover inside the Rescue Squad Park pavillion.
