This past week provided many opportunities to see Mother Teresa’s great words “Do small things with great love” in action. From the many small, quiet acts of service that our Rotarians, who have such big hearts, do to support our Rotary and others, to the Volunteer Fair at Trilogy held this past Saturday. Many thanks to our Rotary Satellite Club and our own Rotarians who organized and volunteered for such a great event. There were many great organizations present who exemplify what it means to do not only countless small things every single day, but also great acts of care and service with an immeasurable amount of love. Among those organizations, who care for our most vulnerable, were the Lincoln County Child Advocacy Center, our own CART - Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust, and Angels for Animals. It was inspiring atmosphere made even more so by the numerous folks visiting the organizations to find a place to that they can serve others. What an uplifting day!
I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday and wishing you all a week ahead of great love.
With kindest regards,
Trudie

Collections Ending Soon for Operation Warm 2025 - Opportunity to Buy Coats and Hoodies for Foster Kids
This is Denver/Lake Norman Rotary's seventh year working with Operation Warm to provide a new winter coat for every child in foster care in Lincoln County. The club purchases coats that keep infants, children, teens and young adults (birth to 21 years) warm all winter. The recipients get to pick the color of the coat that they desire and their Social Worker provides the size for ordering and then, delivers the coat to the child. Older children will receive hoodies since they much prefer them to actual coats.
The committee is headed up by Cathy Smiley and will raise money for approximately one month so that orders can be placed with our various suppliers.
Please make checks out to the Denver/Lake Norman Rotary Club Foundation with "Operation Warm" on the memo line, so that your contribution can be tax deductible. Businesses, neighbors and friends are also welcomed and encouraged to donate.
Ross gave for a business plug for Burners Cigar Company next door to Westlake Restaurant, and Sept 18th will be having an open house with beer and wine and appetizers.
Panico gave for Trudie thanks for celebrating Mother Teresa today.
Sherrie brought Jake today - he is the emotional support dog for the child advocacy center.
Thanks to Rich and Trudie and also the United Way has helped with funding as well.
Debbie reminded everyone to give for Operation Warm and soon will be the last chance to donate. Good news “Your Wine stop” is opening a new location in Sherrills Ford.
