President's Message

Greetings, Fellow Rotarians!

This Wednesday's meeting will feature a special guest speaker, Rotarian Richard S. Lawrence who has initiated thirty clean water and sanitation projects in villages throughout the country of Guatemala and in the process, successfully applied for a total of twelve Rotary Global Grants.

It was great to see a few Denver/Lake Norman Rotarians at 3 Little Birds wine bar in Newton last Thursday where we were able to network with members of the Catawba Valley Rotary and hear about its Annual Charity Chase Half Marathon & 5K fundraiser as well as its successful IMPACT club.

Coming up this Thursday August 1st at 6:30 pm is our next Rotary Social at Whitewater Center in Charlotte where there will be a free concert by the band "The Kind Thieves".  All Rotarians, partners and friends are invited to attend.

Also, Board Members and Committee Chairs, the Denver/Lake Norman Rotary Board will meet at 7:30 am on Friday, August 2nd at Ross Bulla's office.

See you all on Wednesday!

Craig leading by giving one for Zach and the successful concert, despite the rain.

Andie gave for Tammy, the speaker, the great band despite being a “drowned rat” watching them play and she also let us know we have raised $2400 more for CART.

Rich gave for Ken Morris he is on the road to recovery after a fall.

Trudie had a great time in the mountains Saturday thanking Chad for the hospitality.

Jim introduced us to his grandson Logan, brother to Lillie. He is involved with district Rotary leaders’ group at his Union County school and it partners with Gardner-Webb University. He is officially the first eagle scout in the Minor family, plays basketball and is only 16 years old. Bright future ahead.

Sherrie gave to honor Tammie and for Lincoln County Child Advocacy Center's 30 year anniversary party success. 350 people stopped by.

Paneco gave to honor Zach and Music in the Park dedication and Joanie was “singing in the rain”.

Mike gave for his 54-year anniversary, going to the Keys for a family reunion and will be going to Yorktown and Williamsburg soon as well.

Marty had to cut his trip short but did get to visit his old Rotary club.

Steve gave as well but the writer missed the mention to report here sorry.
