Dear Rotarians,

We have long heard the phrase “spring into action”. It is an idiom meaning to suddenly become very active, energetic, or to start doing something immediately, usually in response to a need. It describes a swift transition into purposeful movement.

This spring one of our most purposeful projects in Race to Philanthropy. It promises to be an evening of so much fun, camaraderie and laughter, as well as a beautiful opportunity to do much good for our neighbors and community.

We need all our Rotarians to be a part of this event in whatever capacity we are able. Ross and Michelle have gone absolutely above and beyond to make sure we will be ready for it on May 2nd. Our Wednesday morning meetings April 22 and April 29 will be dedicated to training us in our roles at the event and getting us all ready so we are prepared and can support and enjoy it. Please plan to attend those two meetings as they will be one of the keys to a smooth and rewarding evening.

Another very important action step we can take is to invite guests and register them. Let’s share this event with our friends, family, colleagues, business associates, neighbors and community. It is a great opportunity to impart to others what Rotary does near and far, how Rotarians unite for good and have a fantastic time simultaneously.

Thank you so much for your kind hearts and all you do!

With Gratitude,

Trudie

Now is the Time to Recruit Guests for Race for Philanthropy

As we get closer to Race For Philanthropy, a quick reminder that if you are attending, we are generally assuming you will also be helping with a volunteer role during the evening. It takes a lot of people doing small jobs well to make the event work, and Rotary involvement is a big part of that.

Rotarians are encouraged to invite their significant other to attend. If your significant other is coming, we also would encourage them to also invite at least one couple or two individuals who would genuinely enjoy the evening and appreciate the purpose behind it — people who value community, generosity, and the kind of work our Foundation supports. The goal is simply to continue building the right audience, because who's there matters.

Everyone attending must register in advance by typing raceforphilanthropy.com/rsvp into a web browser exactly as shown. Please do not add “www.” before the address.

A few registration notes:
  • Significant others and their guests should register as “Host’s Guest”
  • Every Rotarian is listed on the host list by first initial and full last name
  • Significant others and their guests should select your name as their host

One small note: the host list is pulled directly from our Rotary database, so if the first initial you commonly use differs from what appears in Rotary records, please let Ross know so guests can find you easily when registering.

This simply helps us keep registrations organized and tied to the right host as they come in.

Thank you for helping make this a thoughtful, well-shaped evening that does real good for our community.
