Fundraiser for The Males Place, Charlotte
The Males Place in Charlotte is selling fresh fruit from Florida as one of its annual fundraisers.  This is a great opportunity to order oranges, grapefruits, mandarins, apples and gift boxes direct from Florida Indian River Groves.  Order forms are available from Rich Lyon who will be happy to collect them along with your checks payable to "The Males Place" at the next Denver/Lake Norman Rotary meeting.  To learn more about The Males Place, click on the following link:
Operation Christmas Child - Samaritan's Purse
The Club will soon be accepting shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items and school supplies for its annual Operation Christmas Child project, a terrific way to help less fortunate children outside of the United States.  Please see Trudie Crawford for shoeboxes and instructions on how to pack them.  Shoeboxes can brought to the Denver/Lake Rotary meeting on Wednesday, November 17th.  For additional information or to make a cash donation, please go to
Operation Warm Project Successful
Once again, Charlie Bohlen has reported on a successful year for Denver/Lake Norman Rotary's Operation Warm project. Due to the generosity of the Denver/Lake Norman Rotary membership, $2725 was collected for the purchase of brand new coats. With new coats leftover from last year, this year's purchases and a grant from the Foundation of the Carolinas, each of the 107 children in foster care in Lincoln County will have a new coat to wear this winter. Thanks especially to Charlie & Norma Bohlen, Sherry Reinhardt and Cathy Smiley for their generosity.
