Phew! I am still recovering from the fabulous Cigar, Bourbon, and Benefactors extravaganza that Ross Bullahosted to grow funds for our beloved Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse - The Child Advocacy Center. My muscles hurt from moving a bagillion pieces of furniture and dozens of trips around the event space helping in any way possible. BRAVO my dear friend - thank you for your months of dedication to this, and many other, charitable organizations.
Looking ahead to this week’s club assembly - In years past members (MYSELF INCLUDED) would sometimes think “I can just skip this Wednesday’s meeting.” I don’t have anything to report on or my input is not valuable. We cannot have that mentality. For one, we owe it to our new members to help mentor them in all ways Rotary. Sharing experiences and answering questions as to what we do is vital to a new member really emerging themselves in our Rotarian family. Second, we owe it to Rotary. This great organization does so much good in the world and our time/talents are useful in furthering this. Lastly, WE do so much in our group and in our lives. It is not only important to give something back but to give of our time and talent so the burden does not fall on one or two people alone. So please join me, the board and committee chairs this Wednesday to get a brief description of the role each committee plays to further the Mission and Vision of Rotary. This is not a meeting to give the history of Rotary or its areas of Focus - we will save that for a future meeting. My hope is that you will get more involved in projects within those areas of focus to do more good in our world and to also bring home a few more awards from the District Assembly next spring! (I’m slightly competitive but it is all for a great cause right?!) Rotary forever!
See you this Wednesday!
