Greetings, my fellow Rotarians!
Man oh man what a game yesterday! Where I was sad to see Caitlyn Clark go without a championship title out of college basketball I was so elated for the University of South Carolina to be the one to grab it! Each team brought their passion to the floor, and a few elbows, but their love for the game was 100% evident. Even if you don’t follow women’s basketball you would understand the drive and determination that was displayed had you watched only for two minutes!
This same feeling is what I see when our Denver/Lake Norman Rotary, and Rotarians overall, come together to help with any of our numerous projects or to meet our goals. We certainly did that March 27th when we stuffed the Back Packs. It may have been a quick pop-up project but the impact will be widely felt for sure.
Not only do we come together physically but we certainly know how to make a great financial impact as well. I want to thank everyone who has contributed in whatever way possible to the Rotary Foundation. I received a call last week from DG Sean Gibson to give us some props! Denver/Lake Norman Rotary contributed over $26,000 this past year, which is approximately $400 per capita of our 62 active Rotarians. It was also a little over %10 of the entire Districts contribution! We had some Major Gifts from a handful of Rotarians who we have acknowledged and celebrated. All of this money goes to the areas of focus we as Rotarians support! Things like Disease prevention and Basic Education/Literacy to name a few. Thank you for your generosity!
Moving on - Next week is our zoom meeting with the 2025-2026 Rotary International President Nominee Mario Cesar Martins de Camargo. This is an incredible opportunity and I want to give a specific shout out to Panico Peres for making it happen. Please come prepared with a question or 2 and the understanding that this will not be a typical meeting! Don your pins, badges and Rotary swag to show our incredible spirit!
Gratitude and Inspiration is in my heart because I am surrounded and supported by all of you!
See you in two!
Andie
